Towards the new opportunities – that is how one can sum up the meeting that concluded the EaPConnect2 project, summarizing the last decade in the development of NRENs in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus.
PSNC’s headquarters hosted representatives of NRENs from Italy, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Armenia, Ukraine, and Lithuania. Others joined the meeting online. Our Center played a key role in this initiative, supporting the development of network services and technologies. One of the significant achievements of the project was the implementation and adaptation of the dLibra system – an advanced next-generation digital library environment. This system, responsible for managing, processing, searching, and sharing documents in electronic form, was tailored to the specific needs of scientific communities in Armenia and Ukraine.
The Head of the PSNC Network and Service Infrastructure Department – Raimundas Tuminauskas emphasized the importance of developing the competencies of NREN teams, as well as their engagement and participation in European projects. A tangible result of this cooperation is the granting of a full membership in the pan-European research and education network GEANT to the NRENs of Eastern European and South Caucasus countries.

The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center was awarded in the category “Investment Expert”, which was a reflexion of PSNC’s success with the Center’s very own Proxima supercomputer – recognized as one of the fastest machines in the world according to the current prestigious TOP500 list.
