Honorable mention for the “Internet Assistant for Neighbourhood Councillors”
The tool implemented by the Office of Digitisation and Cyber Security of the UMP in cooperation with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center received an honorable mention in this year’s edition of the “Innovative Local Government” competition. The idea was initiated by the Department for Support of Municipal Auxiliary Units of Poznań City Hall. This modern solution was recognised as it helps estate councils to operate efficiently.

The awarded tool was created as part of the Multimedia City Guide platform (MIM) – the official information service of the capital of Wielkopolska Region, a joint undertaking of the Poznań City Hall and the PSNC Future Internet Services Department. It allows housing estate councillors equal and quick access to e-mail correspondence addressed to housing estate authorities. It enables the efficient process of sending the notifications of estate council sessions (with all materials, e.g. agendas or draft resolutions). The solution also gives the City Auxiliary Units Support Department the possibility to check whether the estate councillor has read the communication in the IARO.

The launch of the IARO platform has made it possible to significantly reduce the paper documentation submitted to councillors.

The ‘Innovative Local Government’ competition was established to reward cities and municipalities that can boast modern projects. It is organised by PAP’s Local Government Service. This year, as many as 244 entries were received from all over Poland. Among them were intelligent solutions for the management of urban infrastructure and projects relating to the development of e-services. “Internet Assistant for Neighbourhood Councillors”(IARO) of the City of Poznan won an award in the ‘large cities’ category.
