Polish accents at Quantum World Congress 2023

Is the future ready for quantum solutions? This is one of the questions posed to participants by the organisers of the second edition of the Quantum World Congress, which was hosted for three days (September 26-28, 2023) in Tysons, Virginia. The event, bringing together representatives of science, business and investors from around the world, was attended by the Director of PSNC Dr Cezary Mazurek.

Life-saving medicines, precise weather forecasts, optimised supply chains, climate change solutions. What once seemed like science fiction will soon be possible thanks to quantum technology. This was the premise behind the Quantum World Congres, a meeting place for quantum technology visionaries, policy makers, researchers, business and investment leaders as well as students.

This year’s edition included many esteemed speakers. One of the guests at the congress was Dr Erwin Gianchandani, Deputy Director of the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships at the National Science Foundation. Dr Gianchandani leads the newly formed TIP Directorate to explore the future of quantum innovation and how technology, innovation and partnerships will influence global progress.

The Congress included a number of side events, such as the International Forum, during which Poland was represented by PSNC Director Dr Cezary Mazurek who also took an active part in the ‘Data Centers’ panel to speak at the invitation of Hanhee Paik of IBM Quantum in a Fire Chat entitled The Quantum Datacenter: Its Technology and Impact.
