Scientific Conference “Doctor-Patient-Scientist, collaboration in rare diseases”

On 28 February 2024, on the occasion of the International Rare Diseases Day, the IBCH PAS Foundation, in cooperation with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS and the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, is organising a free, fully virtual conference “Doctor-Patient-Scientist, Collaboration in Rare Diseases”, as an expression of solidarity with people struggling with these diseases.

The event is an opportunity to raise public awareness of rare diseases. Improving access to effective treatments and diagnostics for Polish patients is one of the many challenges that require interdisciplinary collaboration and expertise. Highlighting the importance of basic pre-clinical research involving Polish scientists is another important aspect of the work on rare diseases.
The conference, which was remotely organised and technologically supported by the PSNC, was divided into three panels: “Doctors”, “Patients” and “Scientists”. The latter will be represented by Michał Kosiedowski, M.Sc. – Manager of the PSNC Future Internet Services Department.

The event will also be attended by, among others: Dr Luiza Handschuh – Director of IBCH PAS, Prof. IBCH PAS, Dr Cezary Mazurek – Director of PSNC, Paulina Stochniałek – Member of the Board of the Wielkopolska Region and Renata Borowska-Juszczyńska – Director of Teatr Wielki -.

Participation in the conference is free of charge, but registration is required at: https://konferencjachorobyrzadkie-poznan.pl/rejestracja/.
