FENG Projects for PSNC

FENG Projects for PSNC

The National Information Processing Institute – National Research Institute, as an intermediary institution in the FENG Priority II, has completed the assessment of applications for funding in two calls “The Path for Projects from the Polish Roadmap of Research Infrastructure” and “The Path for Projects Concerning Undertakings of Network-Based Institutions Consisting of Research Organizations”. The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center affiliated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the leader of four and a partner in two projects funded in these calls.

FENG (European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027) is the successor to POIG (Innovative Economy 2007–2013) and POIR (Intelligent Development 2014–2020). With a budget of PLN 36 billion, FENG supports research, implementation of innovations, use of advanced technologies, growth of competitiveness of Polish SMEs, as well as industrial transformation and entrepreneurship, among others.

FENG is to increase Poland’s potential in terms of utilizing advanced technologies in the economy. The creation and application of such technologies is supposed to help in solving current social and economic problems. The program consists of four main support areas called priorities. These are:

I – Support for entrepreneurs,

II – Innovation friendly environment,

III – ‘Go Green’ policy for companies,

IV – Technical assistance.

Additionally projects must include activities that strengthen the competencies of academic staff in areas such as:

  • utilization of infrastructure,
  • commercialization of R&D results,
  • technology transfer,
  • innovation management.
