EmpowerHer – a New Project for Women

EmpowerHer is the name of an innovative program designed for breast cancer survivors, who are encouraged to participate in it during their recovery. Its primary goal is to promote physical activity and social support, so it provides various tools and strategies that are very useful in improving the quality of EmpowerHer participants’ lives. Part of the program is a user-friendly mobile app, which gives women access to personalized exercise routines tailored to their individual needs and abilities.

EmpowerHer focuses on physical, emotional and social challenges faced by cancer survivors. It consists of motivational strategies to help maintain commitment to a healthy lifestyle, as well as educational materials with information and tips on managing physical and mental well-being.

The project is being realized by six institutions: the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center, the University of Valencia (Spain), Cluster Sports and Technology (Netherlands), Surpassport (Ireland), Olympiacos (Greece) and the European Platform for Sport Innovation (Belgium).

Here are some of the PSNC responsibilities within the EmpowerHer project:

  • collecting data on participants’ engagement in the exercise program and usability of the application;
  • conducting thorough validation tests to assess the functionality of the user interface;
  • collecting feedback from participants and moderators on their experiences with the application, identifying any usability issues or areas requiring improvement;
  • analyzing the collected data to evaluate the impact of the pilot program on participants’ physical and mental well-being.
