EUvsVirus – hackaton against the epidemic

The European Commission invites you to take part in a Europe-wide hackathon aimed at developing innovative solutions to overcome the social problems caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. The event will take place this weekend 24-26 April 2020. PSNC is officially joining the action.

Hackathon EUvsVirus aims to bring together innovators, partners and buyers across Europe to jointly address the problems caused by the coronavirus epidemic. Its participants will focus on categories of problems requiring short-term solutions, including health and life in a coronavirus pandemic, business continuity, distance working and education, social and political cohesion, and digital finance.

The EUvsVirus hackathon is open to all 27 Member States of the European Union as well as Norway, Israel, Switzerland, Ukraine and countries associated to Horizon 2020 Programme. The winning solutions will be invited to join the European Innovation Council (EIC) platform, which enables communication with end users such as hospitals and will facilitate access to investors, foundations and other funding options from the European Commission.

So far, more than 500 mentors, 200 research units, 150 foundations have registered to 37 “challenges” of the hackathon and the expected number of all participants is about 60,000. We encourage you to take part in this unusual event.
