Researchers’ Night 2024 in Pictures

During this year’s edition of Researcher’s Night PSNC gave their guests access to the state-of-the-art technology in the shape of HPC’s and a quantum machine. Aspiring researchers could also learn how to professionally record a podcast, act as a journalist in front of a TV camera or even try to handle the camera itself. There were robots, drones and fun galore – everything just to let all the visitors get as close as possible to the beauty of engineering in as many aspects as possible. One of the highlights of the evening was a cutting edge board game that lets you understand what actually is this quantum technology everybody’s talking so much about.

OpenLivingLab Days 2024: a meeting of Living Labs experts

For three days, from 25 to 27 September 2024, the Romanian city of Timișoara hosted the LivingLabs community meeting as part of the OpenLivingLab Days 2024 (OLLD24). Ewelina Moszyk from PSNC Future Labs was one of the speakers at the event, taking part in the panel discussion ‘Business value of Living labs acting for Zero Emissions and Pollution’.

PSNC and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań created the Consortium of Quantum Technologies

On 12 September 2024 Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań signed an agreement launching the creation of the Consortium of Quantum Technologies. The consortium’s main objectives include: quantum computing, machine learning and simulations. Both institutions are going to work together on improving competences and promoting quantum technologies, as well as benefits we gain from them.

Quantum Computing at the XXXIII Economic Forum in the Polish Mountains

XXXIII Economic Forum took place in a picturesque city of Karpacz in the Polish mountains between 3 and 5 September 2024. “Time of New Leaders – Shaping the Future Together” was the theme chosen for this year’s edition of the event. On the final day of the meeting a question concerning quantum computing was posed and PSNC was there to deliver the answer.

PSNC is the patron of the 29th SIMULIA 2024 Users’ Conference

We would like to invite you to the XXIX SIMULIA Users’ Conference, which will take place in Poznań, Poland on 22 and 23 October. This is the most important event related to simulation in Poland, organised by TECHNIA POLAND, a partner of Dassault Systemes – a leader in the computer simulation industry. The Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center is the patron of the conference.

PSNC will start building Poland’s first ion trap-based quantum computer

On 2 August, Dariusz Standerski, Deputy Minister of Digitalisation, met with Anders Jensen, Director of EURO HPC, at the headquarters of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center. The meeting was devoted to the implementation of strategic plans for the construction of the largest ion trap-based quantum computer in Europe.

Final seminar of the PL-5G National Laboratory for Advanced 5G Research project

On 20 June 2024, a seminar was held in Warsaw to finalise the PL-5G National Laboratory for Advanced 5G Research project implemented by the PL-5G consortium, which includes, among others, the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center. The main objective of the project is to provide easy and universal access to an environment that enables research and development of 5G technology. The event was an opportunity to meet the members of the consortium and to summarise the joint work.

Join the “Science on Holiday” lecture series in Jurata

Traditionally, as every year, we invite you to a series of open summer lectures organised by the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Poznan Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The meetings will be held in July and August every Thursday at 19:00 in the House of Creative Work of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Jurata. On 15 August the lecture will be given by the Director of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center – Dr Eng. Cezary Mazurek.

AIENTR4YOUTH consortium meeting

A meeting of the AI-ENTR4YOUTH consortium was held at the headquarters of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center on 28 June to discuss the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI (Artificial Intelligence) in education. The meeting also discussed the future scaling up of the programme to reach 7,000 students in a number of European countries, including Albania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Romania and Ukraine.

DIAG project meeting

The DIAG – Digital Imaging Accuracy Guidelines project team organised a meeting with its partners at the National Digital Archive in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by project partners, including representatives of libraries, archives, museums and galleries from all over Poland, including Gdansk, Kraków, Torun, Warsaw and Poznan.
