Representatives of NRENs from Macedonia, Moldova, France, Greece, Croatia and PSNC – collectively known as the nmaas team got together to discuss further development of the GN5-2 project. The meeting took place at CBPIO (PSNC headquarters in Poznań) on 20 and 21 February 2025. The topics discussed included: software development, implementation of new functionalities, analysis of current and potential new cases of system use and expanding the nmaas service for GÉANT community users.
The nmaas team set the directions and priorities for the coming months. They also developed the vision of how the project should evolve during its second phase, which is going to last for the next two years.
nmaas is an open platform designed for launching users’ applications in cloud environment based on Kubernetes (open-source platform used for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications).
It is a versatile solution which has multiple use cases. Thanks to nmaas we can create Virtual NOCs or cloud-based Virtual Labs.
