Several supercomputer facilities around the world are already planning to incorporate quantum-computing hardware into their systems, including Germany’s Jupiter, Japan’s Fugaku, and Poland’s PSNC. Quantumzeitgeist.com, on the other hand, breaks the news on a tender concerning an ion-trap-based quantum computer, which is going to be installed at PSNC. This cutting-edge system, characterized by its innovative architecture, modularity, and expandability, will be installed in 2025 and made available to a broad range of European users. Notably, AQT’s quantum computer has demonstrated the highest quantum volume in Europe to date and operates at room temperature with low power consumption. This milestone marks a significant step forward for Europe’s supercomputing infrastructure, supporting research, innovation, and industrial applications across the continent. Enea Operator implements advanced proprietary tool to support investment planning process

The result is a fully proprietary tool, the only one of its kind in the Polish energy industry, that supports investment processes based on data from remote reading meters, GIS network information and data from the SCADA system

The meeting was devoted to the implementation of strategic plans for the construction of the largest ion trap-based quantum computer in Europe.
Final seminar of the PL-5G National Laboratory for Advanced 5G Research project

On 20 June 2024, a seminar was held in Warsaw to finalise the PL-5G National Laboratory for Advanced 5G Research project implemented by the PL-5G consortium, which includes, among others, the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center. The main objective of the project is to provide easy and universal access to an environment that enables research and development of 5G technology. The event was an opportunity to meet the members of the consortium and to summarise the joint work.
