On 22 June, Piknik na Fest was held in the Citadel Park under the auspices of Marshal Marek Woźniak. The theme of the event was the 20th anniversary of Poland’s and Wielkopolska’s presence in the European Union. During the picnic, the activities of the voivodeship government and municipal institutions, which improve the quality of life of the region’s inhabitants, were presented. Among the attractions were those prepared by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.
In a tent specially prepared by the PSNC, participants in the event could try their hand at flying a virtual plane. Also on display were a wheeled robot in a camera-based person recognition scenario, an intelligent urban pot and the Innovative Education Laboratory. The youngest visitors had the opportunity to take on the role of an engineer and solve a selected technological challenge using a BBC micro:bit programmable board.
Visitors to the PSNC booth learned the basics of programming and could see how technology plays a crucial role in engineering.
