Poznan Debate II: “Technologies that change the city”

The Foundation for the Development of the City of Poznan invites all interested parties to participate in the second Poznan Debate. It will be held on March 18 in the hybrid formula and broadcasted from the TV studio located at the PSNC headquarters. As part of the Debate, the interdisciplinary discussion will be attended by representatives of various fields of science, economy, business, and social sciences. Cezary Mazurek, Ph.D. – Director of PSNC – will appear as an expert during this event.

The aim of the Poznan Debates is to make an in-depth reflection with a practical message; what phenomena in the areas of social life, economy, and technology should we take into account from the point of view of their significance for the functioning and development of the city, what do they mean for the life of the inhabitants, what may affect the city’s future, how these activities can be used or neutralized. The topics of the Debates concern selected socio-economic phenomena occurring in the contemporary world and the practical implications for the functioning and development of the city of Poznan.

The subject of the 2nd Poznan Debate is the impact of new technologies on the development of Poznan. An interdisciplinary group of experts will try to answer the following questions:

  • how new technologies are changing our city,
  • what are the new opportunities and threats for residents and the economy,
  • how they affect the lives of residents,
  • how Poznan can make better use of these technologies.

The Debate will be attended by:

  • Cezary Mazurek, Ph.D. – Director of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.
  • Prof. Tomasz Łodygowski, Ph.D. Eng. – Head of the Aeronautical Department at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport, Poznan University of Technology,
  • Prof. Rafał Drozdowski, Ph.D. – Sociologist, Faculty of Sociology, Department of Theory and Social Practice Research, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan,
  • Dagmara Nickel – Chairman of the Management Board – YouNick Technology Park sp.z o.o.,
  • Bartosz Burek – Chairman of the Management Board, co-owner – Jakdojade.
