EuroHPC is a joint venture between European countries and the European Commission (EuroHPC JU) to build an exascale computing infrastructure in Europe. Within the framework of this project, a network of EuroHPC National Competence Centers is planned to be established to support industrial research with the participation of academic researchers and using the computing resources provided by EuroHPC supercomputers.
The goal of the EuroCC2 project is to further develop the activities of the National HPC Competence Centers in each participating country. These are centers that bring together the potential of all supercomputing centers from a given country and mediate their services to users from universities and scientific institutions, the industrial sector and public administration.
A key aspect of the project is also to transfer knowledge in the use of supercomputers, increase cooperation, exchange best practices and knowledge at the European level, and accelerate the improvement of national, and thus European, capabilities for HPC services.
