High-energy physics, radio astronomy, particle astrophysics, climate research, environmental monitoring – all are expected to contribute significantly to advances in modelling and simulation technology.
The EU-funded interTwin project will develop and deploy a prototype of an interdisciplinary solution called Digital Twin Engine (DTE), an open source platform that will provide generic and customised modelling and simulation software components to integrate application-specific digital twins.
The aim is to develop a common approach that can be applied across the entire spectrum of scientific disciplines, thereby supporting development and stimulating collaboration. This will ultimately ensure the consolidation of software technologies to support scientific research.
