PSNC and the PIONIER Consortium at the Supercomputing 24 Conference

PSNC and the PIONIER Consortium at the Supercomputing 24 Conference

This year’s SC24 – The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis will take place in Atlanta, USA from 17-22 November 2024. The Georgia World Congress Center, one of the largest convention centres in the world, will be the venue for meetings, talks and inspiring presentations at the conference and the accompanying exhibition.

The PIONIER Consortium, together with the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, will present its achievements and current projects at booth #1149. The main element of the stand will be related to the Global Quantum Communication & Quantum Computing, including the demo ‘Hybrid CPU, GPU, QPU infrastructure for hybrid quantum-classical computing use cases development with secure QKD/PQC links’, which is being prepared together with partners from the GÉANT organisation, the US science network ESnet, Internet2, Starlight and SURFnet. The aim of the demo is to show how different computing resources types – CPU, GPU, QPU – can be integrated, providing a complete, single hybrid environment and running hybrid classical-quantum use cases scenarios. In addition, a direct dedicated 100Gbps connection between the SC24 conference venue and the PSNC data centre will provide access to this hybrid infrastructure, secured with QKD/PQC technologies.

As part of the EURO HPC JU collaboration, there will also be a presentation of the EuroQCS-Poland initiative to build a trapped-ion quantum computer, which will be developed at PSNC over the coming year, including integration with classical HPC infrastructure and first applications within this system.

Another important topic presented on our booth during SC24 will be the launch of the EOSC EU Node services, marking a critical milestone in its goal to accelerate the adoption of Open Science across Europe. PSNC is the main contractor responsible for the implementation and maintenance of advanced services available on the EOSC EU Node platform.

More information about our participation at SC24 will be available soon on the website and social media.
