On 7 November 2024 PSNC took part in the Digital Research Tool Fair in Kraków, where one could get acquainted with the Center’s offer concerning both original tools and services designed for digital humanities.
PSNC’s Błażej Betański (Digital Libraries and Knowledge Platforms Department) and Jan Todek (Data Engineering and Analytical Platforms Department) presented Open Software Catalogue and Dingo digitization and presentation toolkit – both dedicated to digital humanities.

The Digital Research Tool Fair was organised by the Jagiellonian Library and its main goal was to connect researchers and science tools providers. Another focus of interest was how to prepare a valid training system for employees and PhD students who need to develop their digital science competences.

World’s First Multi-QPU, Multi-GPU, Multi-CPU Quantum Use Case Demonstration

In a groundbreaking project, Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) in Poland has worked with NVIDIA and ORCA Computing to demonstrate the world's first hybrid computing architecture at PSNC involving a multi-user HPC environment supporting multiple quantum processing units (QPUs), alongside multi-GPU and multi-CPU job execution. PSNC researchers have also trained a hybrid classical-quantum machine learning algorithm within this environment. This work is a first step toward demonstrating the importance of integrating QPUs into hybrid classical-quantum supercomputing environments.

The conference is well-known for HPC, cloud, computing and data access solutions galore presented there on a yearly basis. The PSNC system constitutes the very first node dedicated entirely to the European Commission's open scientific data project (EOSC).

During the expert panel Jarosław Liberek, PhD (Adam Mickiewicz University) and Tomasz Hoffman, PhD (Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center) presented "Proste pismo" (Simple Writing) – a universal tool for simplifying complex written texts, which had been created as a result of cooperation between the Poznań City Hall, Adam Mickiewicz University and Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center.
