Quantum Computing at the XXXIII Economic Forum in the Polish Mountains

XXXIII Economic Forum took place in a picturesque city of Karpacz in the Polish mountains between 3 and 5 September 2024. “Time of New Leaders – Shaping the Future Together” was the theme chosen for this year’s edition of the event. On the final day of the meeting a question concerning quantum computing was posed and PSNC was there to deliver the answer.

“Quantum Computing – How Will It Change Our Lives?” was the title of a panel providing discussion on the complex nature of quantum technology, its current state of development, possibilities it gives and challenges that are posed by its implementation. One of the panel’s participants, who addressed those topics was a PSNC specialist and a true quantum enthusiast – Krzysztof Kurowski, Ph.D.

Other issues brought up during the XXXIII Economic Forum included: cybersecurity, AI, critical infrastructure security, biotechnology, transport, green energy, climate changes and war in the Ukraine, among others. This year’s edition of the annual meeting attracted almost 6 000 guests, who took part in 350 debates and 6 plenary sessions.

Economic Forum is considered to be the biggest platform for dialogue in the Central and Eastern Europe. Its participants focus on the issues concerning economic development and security; they discuss ways of coping with various crises and present some innovative ideas.
